MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- For the second time in three days, DJ Prampin (Worcester, Mass.) delivered a clutch home run for the Bridgewater State University baseball team.

Prampin hit a three-run homer in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bears in the lead before adding a two-run single in the eighth inning Wednesday afternoon.

Those hits led BSU past Penn College of Technology, 8-4, at Griffith Field.

The Bears are now 4-2 at the Ripken Experience with two games remaining this week.

On Monday night, Prampin came through with a solo walk-off homer to give BSU an 8-7 win over Immaculata University.

The Bears had trailed Penn College, 2-1, entering the seventh inning when they erupted for four runs. BSU then added two runs in the eighth and another in the ninth.

Senior Joshua Selander (Granby, Conn.) drew a walk to start the seventh and junior Benjamin Sepeck (Whitman, Mass.) singled up the middle before a sacrifice bunt by freshman Nick Berube (Swampscott, Mass.).

Prampin, who finished with five RBI, then hit his 17th career homer to center field for a 4-2 lead over the Wildcats (3-4).

Pinch hitter Henry Austin (Braintree, Mass.), a freshman, doubled to left-center and pinch runner Danny Jasmin (East Meadow, N.Y.), a senior, scored on a single to center by junior Logan Petrosino (Beverly, Mass.).

In the eighth, BSU went up, 7-2, on Prampin's two-run single up the middle.

Selander had walked, went to second on a wild pitch and to third on a single by Berube, who stole second to get in scoring position.

The Bears' final run in the ninth came when junior Rylan Secovich (Southwick, Mass.) reached on a fielder's choice, advanced to third on a wild pitch and an error and scored on a balk.

BSU took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when senior Ryan Flaherty (Duxbury, Mass.) hit the 24th home run of his career to left with two outs.

Flaherty, who hit a school-record 17 homers in 2025, ranks third on the all-time career list behind John Kiely (29 from 1986-87) and Jay Doherty (27 from 1989-92).

Penn College scored single runs in the first two innings for a 2-1 lead.

Junior Matt Munoz (Tobyhanna, Pa.) had an RBI single to right in the first and a groundout by junior Jaiden Augustine (Dillsburg, Pa.) brought in the run in the second.

Penn College's final runs in the eighth came on an RBI double by Munoz and a sacrifice fly to right by junior Jaydon Goebel (Honey Brook, Pa.).

Sepeck was 3-for-4 and Prampin 2-for-4 for the Bears, who outhit the Wildcats, 11-9.

Senior CJ Hess (Providence, R.I.) was the winning pitcher, going three innings out of the bullpen, giving up two runs and a hit with three strikeouts.

Starter Matthew Almeida (Fall River, Mass.), a freshman, made his first career start and gave up two runs and six hits with three strikeouts in four innings.
