Andrew Cloutman Named MASCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University senior running back Andrew Cloutman has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Offensive Player of the Week.

Cloutman rushed for career highs of 237 yards and four touchdowns on 27 carries in the Bears 41-35 overtime victory over MASCAC foe Anna Maria College. The Hanson, Massachusetts native averaged 8.8 yards per carry and scored on runs of 32, four, 12 and four yards. His final rushing touchdown came in overtime to give the Bears’ the walk-off victory

Cloutman is the first Bear to rush for 200 or more yards in a game since Nick Santavicca in 2019. 

In eight games this season, Cloutman has carried the ball 106 times for 638 yards and nine touchdowns as he is averaging 6.0 yards per carry and 79.8 yards per game.

Cloutman currently ranks third among the MASCAC rushing leaders in touchowns, yards per game and yards per carry. He is also fourth in the conference in rushing yards, fifth in scoring (54 pts.) and sixth in rushing attempts.

In 19 games over three seasons with the Bears, Cloutman has rushed for 709 yards and ten touchdowns on 124 carries. He also has six receptions for 47 yards.

The MASCAC Offensive Player of the Week distinction marks the first of Cloutman's career.

The BSU football team is currently 5-4 on the season and 5-3 in the MASCAC. The Bears wrap up the 2025 campaign on Saturday when the travel to Massachusetts Maritime Academy for the 46th Annual Cranberry Bowl.
