COLCHESTER, Vt. -- Senior Desmond Ng (Petaling Jaya, Malaysia) won a pair of events in a tri-meet for the Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team Sunday.
The Bears won over Maine Maritime Academy, 135-96, and lost to Division II host Saint Michael's College, 140-94, at the Ross Sports Center.
Ng was first in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:01.14 and took first in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:01.93.
Ng was also part of the winning 200-yard medley relay team that was first in 1:38.75.
He was joined by senior Ryan McKenzie (Charlton, Mass.), junior Aaron Fowler (Brookline, Mass.) and junior Jirat Saengthong (Watertown, Mass.).
In three meets, Ng has combined to win four individual events this season, including the 50-yard breaststroke against Wheaton College and the 100-yard breaststroke at the Roger Williams Invitational.
Fowler and Saengthong also won individual events for the Bears.
Fowler placed first in the 100-yard butterfly in 51.50 seconds. He was also the second-place finisher in the 100-yard backstroke in 57.68 seconds.
Saengthong won the 100-yard freestyle in 48.38 seconds. He was also second in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.24 seconds.
Freshman James Hein (Holliston, Mass.) finished third in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:55.84.
Hein was also on the 200-yard freestyle relay team that was second in 1:32.77. He was on the team with freshman Wilco Zbitnoff (Haverhill, Mass.), freshman Kaua Deassis (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) and senior Richard Palanza (Mansfield, Mass.).
Senior Robbie Soucy (Frye Island, Maine) placed third in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
BSU will be in action again on Friday at 5 p.m., taking part in the Eastern Connecticut State Relays.
