Men's Track & Field Competes at The Mini Meet

BOSTON, Mass. -- Sophomore Joshua Cardichon (Brockton, Mass.) was a first-place finisher for the Bridgewater State University men's indoor track & field team on Saturday.

Cardichon won the 400-meter race at the Mini Meet held at Boston University in a time of 50.77 seconds.

Cardichon was one of four Bears to finish in the top six in the 400.

Senior Chris Beaulieu (Monson, Mass.) was second in a personal-best time of 50.90 seconds with senior Nicholas Grace (Acushnet, Mass.) in fourth with a PR time of 51.22 seconds and senior Ryker King (Wareham, Mass.) sixth in a PR of 51.62.

Graduate student Kevin McBirney (East Bridgewater, Mass.) was second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.26 while junior Aydan Fournier (Assonet, Mass.) was third in a personal-best time of 1:56.70.

McBirney is currently ranked fifth in all of Division III in the 800 while Fournier is 27th.

BSU had two runners finish in the top four of the 200-meter race.

Senior Desean Peters-Wolfe (Mansfield, Mass.) had a PR of 22.52 seconds to place third while junior Matthew Mooney (Douglas, Mass.) took fourth in 22.55.

Graduat student Landon Crowley (West Bridgewater, Mass.) finished seventh in the 200 (23.11) while junior Zachary Feist (Stoughton, Mass.) checked in at ninth with a PR of 23.14 seconds. 

In the mixed 200-meter dash, senior Roody Jean-Louis (Roxbury, Mass.) was third with a PR time of 24.98 seconds.

Senior Colin Daly (Easton, Mass.) took fourth in the weight throw (13.14 meters).

Senior Kyle Ackroyd (Charlestown, R.I.) finished 13th in the 3,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 8:49.61. He is currently ranked 38th in all of Division III in the 3,000.

Sophomore Malachi Chansky (Millis, Mass.) competed at the Art Kadish Elm City Challenge hosted by Southern Connecticut State University. Chansky finished 20th in the long jump (18'9.75"/5.73m) and 37th in the 55-meter dash (7.01).

BSU will take part in the Bryant University Indoor Throws Competition on Jan. 7 and the Branwen Smith-King Invitational at Tufts University on Jan. 17.
