BOSTON, Mass. -- Sophomore Joshua Cardichon (Brockton, Mass.) was a winner for the Bridgewater State University men's indoor track & field team at the Roxbury Community
College Tigers Open.
Cardichon came in first place in the 200-meter dash at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center on Friday.
Cardichon won with a time of 23.02 seconds, topping a field of 58 entrants.
He finished just ahead of sophomore Joseph D'Angelo (Pembroke, Mass.) of Saint Anselm, who ran in 23.07 seconds, and junior Charlie Fitzpatrick (Westport, Conn.) of Tufts University, who had a time of 23.09 seconds.
Cardichon was also part of the Bears' 4x400 relay team which also placed first with a time of 3:37.67.
The group consisted of freshman Sean Venator (Manchester, N.H.), junior Brian Vale (Assonet, Mass.), sophomore Noah Johnson (Templeton, Mass.) and Cardichon.
Freshman Mason Veits (Tewksbury, Mass.) was third for the Bears in the pole vault (11 feet, five and 3/4 inches).
Senior Javon Epps (Brockton, Mass.) was fifth in the 60-meter dash in 7.18 seconds while freshman Tyler Amaral (Dartmouth, Mass.) took fifth in the 3,000-meter race in 9:24.90.
In the 800-meter race, Vale placed fifth in 2:02.83 while teammate Johnson was ninth in 2:07.92.
Senior Colin Daly (Easton, Mass.) finished sixth out of 25 in the weight throw with a heave of 45 feet, 2 1/4 inches.
Also sixth was freshman Clayton Pastor Norales (New Bedford, Mass.) in the long jump (20 feet, 11 1/4 inches).
Senior Chris Beaulieu (Monson, Mass.) was sixth in the 400-meter run witha time of 52.14 seconds while Venator was right behind him in seventh with a time of 52.26.
Senior Ryker King (Wareham, Mass.) finished seventh in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.92 seconds while freshman Jayvon Lodge (Brockton, Mass.) was eighth in the shot put (43 feet, 3 1/4 inches).
