Burchhardt, O'Sullivan-Van Etten Named to CSC Academic All-District® One Women's Basketball Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Two members of the Bridgewater State University women's basketball program have been selected to the 2025-2026 Academic All-District® One Division III Women's Basketball Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

Earning the honor from Bridgewater State are senior guard Haley Burchhardt and sophomore forward Bridgitt O'Sullivan-Van Etten (Cumberland, R.I.). Burchhardt is making her second straight appearance on the CSC Academic All-District® One Division III Women's Basketball Team while O'Sullivan-Van Etten is a first-time honoree.

Joining the two Bears on the Academic All-District® One Division III Women's Basketball Team from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) are Lauren Kimball and Amare Williams of MCLA; Westfield State's Caroline Galvani; and Aydan Gulliver, Mia Haynes and Hannah Lomonaco of Worcester State.

The 2025-2026 Academic All-District® Women’s Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be eligible for all-academic honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or a key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at her current institution and be nominated by her sports information director. A student-athlete must have also played in at least 90% of her team's contests for the 2025-2026 season or started at least 67% of the games.

Burchhardt, who hails from Schenectady, New York, currently sports a 3.798 GPA while majoring in geography. She played in and started all 27 games this and averaged ten points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 41.9% (104-248) from the floor and 80.7% (46-57) at the free throw line.

In 104 games (90 starts) over two seasons at Bridgewater State and two at Utica University, Burchhardt accumulated 854 points, 411 rebounds, 202 assists and 127 steals.

A Cumberland, Rhode Island product, O'Sullivan-Van Etten is majoring in health science with a concentration in pre-physcial therapy and checks in with a perfect 4.00 GPA. She averaged 8.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists and one steal in 27 games (20 starts) this season while shooting a MASCAC-leading 56% (103-184) from the floor as well as 55.6% (10-18) from behind the arc and 72% (18-25) at the free throw line.

Burchhardt and O'Sullivan-Van Etten helped the BSU women's basketball team post a 16-11 record in 2025-2026 including a 13-1 mark in MASCAC play. The Bears captured the MASCAC regular season for the third time in the last four year and the tenth time in program history.
