AMHERST, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's outdoors track & field team took part in the Amherst College Spring Fling Saturday.
The Bears had two top 10 finishers -- sophomore Jane Sitek Shaver (Burlington, Vt.) and freshman Madison Campbell (Weymouth, Mass.).
Sitek Shaver was ninth in the javelin with a toss of 80 feet, 11 inches (24.66m). She also finished 16th in the discus with a throw of 94 feet, 11 inches (28.95m).
Freshman Madison Campbell (Weymouth, Mass.) was tenth in the discus with a personal-best heave of 107 feet, five inches (32.74m). Campbell was also 17th in the shot put (30'3.5"/9.23).
Sophomore Chloe Davies (Foxborough, Mass.) finished 11th in the high jump (4'7.75"/1.42m) while teammate Bella Grover (Warren, Mass.), also a sophomore, was 12th (4'7.75"/1.42m).
Finishing 16th in the 200-meter dash was freshman Savana Malo (Milford, Mass.) with a PR time of 27.70 seconds.
Freshman Olivia O'Toole (Plymouth, Mass.) placed 18th in the 100 hurdles with a time of 18.32 seconds and freshman Sophia Morin (Centerville, Mass.) finished 18th in the shot put with a toss of 29 feet, 2.75 inches (8.91m).
BSU will take part in the Tufts Spring Invitational on Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m.
