MEDFORD, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore Grace Inacio (Taunton, Mass.) had a successful day at the Tufts University Spring Invitational.
Inacio won one event and placed second in another for the Bears' women's outdoors track & field team at the Ellis Oval/Zimman Field/Dussault Track.
The sprinter was first in the 200-meter race with a time of 24.85 seconds, just shy of the BSU record, and placed second in the 100 with a PR of 12.06 seconds.
Inacio won the 200 over Endicott College freshman Tiana Brown (25.31 seconds). She was second in the 100 by a fraction of a second to Wheaton College senior Michaina Loriston (12.03).
The Bears had one other finisher in the top 10.
Sophomore Bella Grover (Warren, Mass.) finished seventh in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:08.19.
BSU freshman Savana Malo (Milford, Mass.) competed in three events.
Malo was 11th in the long jump (16'7.75"/5.07m), 14th in the 100 (12.86 seconds) and 17th in the 200 (26.74 seconds). Her time in the 200 was a personal-best.
In the discus, sophomore Jane Sitek Shaver (Burlington, Vt.) was 13th with a throw of 101 feet, nine inches (31.02m) while freshman Madison Campbell (Weymouth, Mass.) was 15th with a throw of 98 feet, five inches (30.01m).
Freshman Sophia Morin (Centerville, Mass.) was 18th in the shot put (29'10.25"/9.10m) while freshman Olivia O'Toole (Plymouth, Mass.) was 20th in the 100 hurdles (18.15 seconds) and sophomore Chloe Davies (Foxborough, Mass.) finished 21st in the high jump (4'8.25"/1.43m). O'Toole's time in the hurdles was a PR.
Next on the schedule is the BSU Bears Invitational on Friday starting at 10 a.m.
