EASTON, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore Grace Inacio (Taunton, Mass.) earned her second All-New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association honor in as many years.
Inacio finished seventh in the 100-meter dash for the Bears' outdoor track & field team in the NEICAAA Championships Saturday afternoon.
After qualifying with a third-place finish in her heat earlier in the day with a time of 11.96 seconds, Inacio had a time of 12.13 seconds in the final.
The top eight finishers in each event are All-NEICAAA performers. The meet, held at WB Mason on the campus of Stonehill College, is for all three divisions in New England.
Entering Saturday, Inacio ranked No. 21 nationally in Division III in the 100.
Inacio had also qualified for the 200 at the NEICAAA meet but did not compete in that event.
As a freshman last year in the meet at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Inacio was eighth in the 200 with a time of 25.09 seconds.
Earlier this season, Inacio was first in the 200 at the BSU Bears Invitational and swept the 100 and 200 at the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships.
Inacio placed third in the 200 at the Division III New England meet for all-region honors.
The Bears had two All-NEICAAA performers this season with senior Naomi Cass (Westport, Mass.) placing fifth in the 10,000-meter race Friday.
BSU finished 20th in the NEICAAA meet with six points.
Members of the women's outdoor track & field team could potentially take part in the MIT Final Qualifier at 4 p.m. Thursday.
