BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Savana Malo has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

A native of Milford, Massachusetts, Malo finished 11th in the long jump (16’7.75”/5.07m), 14th in the 100-meter dash (12.86) and 17th in the 200-meter dash (26.74) this past weekend at the Tufts Spring Invitational. Her time in the 200 marked a personal-best.

Malo currently ranks 30th in the East Region in the long jump and 42nd in the 200. 

The MASCAC Rookie of the Week honor marks the fourth of Malo's career. She was also named conference rookie of the week twice during the indoor season.

In upcoming action, the BSU outdoor track & field teams will host the BSU Bears Invitational on Friday with field events beginning at 11:00 AM and track events getting underway at 12:30 PM.
