BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior outside hitter Kim Gowell has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.
Gowell notched a season-high 16 kills (matched career-high) and posted a .480 hitting percentage in the Bears’ key 3-1 MASCAC win over Framingham State to remain undefeated in league action. The Durham, New Hampshire product also added two assisted blocks and three digs in the victory over the Rams.
Through 13 matches this season, Gowell checks in with 102 kills, a .261 hitting percentage, 21 digs and 12 assisted blocks. She presently ranks sixth in the MASCAC in hitting percentage.
In 63 matches over four seasons with the Bears, Gowell has produced 430 kills, 41 aces, 167 digs and 52 blocks (nine solo).
The MASCAC weekly honor marks the second of Gowell's career.
The BSU volleyball team is currently 10-3 on the season and 4-0 in the MASCAC. The Bears host UMass Dartmouth on Friday evening at five o'clock.
