DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University women's cross country team competed on Saturday at the 52nd Annual UMass Dartmouth Invitational. The meet featured teams from all three NCAA divisions.
Senior Naomi Cass (Westport, Mass.) was the Bears' top harrier as she completed the six-kilometer course in a time of 22:29.13 to place 32nd out of a field of 275 runners.
Senior Nimrit Ahuja (Ellicott City, Md.) of Division I Brown University won the race with a time of 21:03.75.
The Bears did not place in the team standings. Boston University captured the team title followed by Brown in second place and UMass Lowell in third.
Sophomore Rhiannon Vos (Marstons Mills, Mass.) and freshman Olivia Pendleton (Yarmouth Port, Mass.) rounded out Bridgewater's top three runners at the meet. Vos was the next Bear to cross the finish line as she placed 84th with a time of 23:29.25, while Pendleton posted a time of 25:41.72 to finish 177th overall. Vos and Pendleton were competing in a 6K race for the first time at the collegiate level.
The Bears are off until Saturday, October 4th when they travel to Keene, New Hampshire for the Keene State Invitational.
