• The Associate Director of Athletics oversees the Compliance of 22 Intercollegiate Sports and Academic support.  Also is the Departments Senior Women's Administrator, who manages the NCAA Champs/Iife skills Programs.

A native of Osterville, Massachusetts, Crosby-Tangen is a 1983 graduate of Bridgewater State and a 1977 graduate of Barnstable High School . She began her career in athletics as the head sailing instructor and assistant volleyball coach at Massachusetts Maritime Academy from 1983-1987. In 1987, she started her tenure at her alma mater as the intramural and recreation coordinator. From 1988 through 1995, she served as the head field hockey coach. She also served as the head lacrosse coach during the 1997 season and five years thereafter as the assistant lacrosse coach.

In 1995, Crosby-Tangen became assistant athletics director for compliance and academic support while also gaining duties as the department's senior women's administrator. She served as vice-president of the Massachusetts Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (MAIAW) in 1997 and served a two-year term as president in 1998 and 1999.

Crosby-Tangen has been involved with Bridgewater State athletics and recreation for more than 20 years both as a student-athlete and athletics administrator. She has served on several national and regional committees including being a member of the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship Selection Committee. She has been a committee member and chair of the ECAC Volleyball Championship Selection Committee and has served on the Commencement and Orientation Committees while at Bridgewater State.

Crosby-Tangen, who currently resides in Norton, Massachusetts, has created and administered the CHAMPS/Lifeskills Program at Bridgewater State. She also administers the Mentor Program that ensures all student-athletes receive academic support if needed, and was selected as a panel member at an NCAA Compliance Seminar.

Last February, Crosby-Tangen was selected as the 22nd recipient of the Dr. Catherine E. Comeau Award which has been given out annually since 1985 to an alumnus of the Health and Physical Education Department, now known as the Department of Movement Arts, Health Promotion and Leisure Studies, for outstanding leadership and professional achievement.
