BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Here's a look at the week ahead (April 6-12) for the Bridgewater State University athletics teams:
MONDAY
MEN'S TENNIS, at home, Curry College, 3:00 PM: The teams had their non-conference match originally scheduled for last week postponed.
BSU is 2-4 and 2-2 at home while the Colonels are 0-12. The Bears won last season, 7-0.
TUESDAY
BASEBALL, at home, Salem State (DH), 3:00 PM: The Bears are riding an eight-game winning streak and are 13-5, 8-1 in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.
The Vikings will arrive at Alumni Park for the twinbill with a 7-8 record and are 3-2 in the conference.
BSU defeated Salem State five times last season, getting three wins in the regular season and two more in the conference tournament.
SOFTBALL, at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy (DH), 5:00 PM: The Bears travel to Buzzards Bay, Mass., for a MASCAC twinbill.
BSU is 12-8 and 3-1 in the conference while the Buccaneers are 8-9 and 1-3.
The teams split two games in 2025 with the Bears losing, 2-0, and winning, 15-3.
WEDNESDAY
MEN'S TENNIS, at home, Thomas, 3:00 PM: The Terriers visit the Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts for a non-conference match.
BSU opened last season with a 6-3 win over Thomas. The Terriers are off to an 8-0 start and are 2-0 in the Empire 8 Athletic Conference.
BASEBALL, at home, Curry College, 3:30 PM: The Bears and Colonels were scheduled to meet on March 23 but the game was postponed.
BSU defeated Curry, 14-2, last season. The Colonels are 6-9 and 4-2 in the Conference of New England with two straight wins.
WOMEN'S LACROSSE, at Roger Williams, 4:00 PM: The Bears (3-8) travel to Bristol, R.I., for a non-conference game with the Hawks (5-6).
The teams last met in 2022, an 18-4 Roger Williams' win, and the Bears have lost seven of nine games in the series since 2009.
FRIDAY
MEN'S TRACK & FIELD, at the Tufts Spring Invitational, 10:00 AM: At the Tufts Sunshine Classic in 2025, BSU's Ryker King won the decathlon with 5,561 points and the 4x400 relay team was first.
WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD, at the Tufts Spring Invitational, 10:00 AM: Grace Inacio (Taunton, Mass.) won the 100-meter dash for the Bears at last year's Tufts Sunshine Classic with a time of 12.27 seconds.
SATURDAY
MEN'S TRACK & FIELD, at the Tufts Spring Invitational, 10:00 AM: The two-day meet at the Ellis Oval/Zimman Field/Dussault Track concludes.
WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD, at the Tufts Spring Invitational, 10:00 AM: The Bears finish their two-day stay at the meet in Medford, Mass.
SOFTBALL, at Rhode Island College (DH), Noon: The Bears have a non-conference doubleheader at the Dayna A. Bazar Softball Complex against the Anchorwomen.
RIC, a member of the Little East Conference, is 15-7 and swept two games from BSU, 2-1 and 7-0, last season.
MEN'S TENNIS, at Western Connecticut State, 1:00 PM: The Bears picked up a 7-2 victory over Western Connecticut in a Little East matchup last season.
WOMEN'S LACROSSE, at Westfield State, 6:00 PM: The Bears will be at Alumni Field to take on the Owls, who won last season's matchup, 8-6.
Westfield State is 5-5 and 2-0 in the MASCAC and opens the week with a three-game winning streak.
