Danny Higgins Named MASCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior quarterback Danny Higgins has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Offensive Player of the Week.
Higgins completed 22 of 38 pass attempts for 244 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for another score in the Bears’ 34-14 win at Worcester State. The Manahawkin, New Jersey product connected on scoring strikes of 14, 7 and 42 yards and added a four-yard TD run.
In three games this season, Higgins has passed for 632 yards and five touchdowns. He ranks second among MASCAC quarterbacks in completions (65), and is also third in passing yards and fourth in touchdowns.
In 27 games over four seasons at Bridgewater State, Higgins has completed 329 of 609 pass attempts for 4,464 yards and 33 touchdowns. He is currently the Bears' all-time leader in completion percentage (.540) and ranks third in completions and attempts, fourth in both passing yards and touchdowns, and fifth in quarterback rating.
The BSU football team is currently 1-2 on the season and tied for first in the MASCAC standings with a 1-0 conference mark. The Bears host MASCAC rival Fitchburg State University on Friday night at seven.
