Isaiah Wright Named MASCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior kick and punt returner Isaiah Wright has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Special Teams Player of the Week.
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore running back Isaiah Wright has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Rookie of the Week.
Wright notched the Bears’ first kickoff return for a touchdown in nearly eight years in a 24-21 setback to WPI. The Worcester, Massachusetts native returned a fourth quarter kickoff 85 yards to the house to give the Bears a 21-16 lead at the time. Wright averaged 57 yards on a pair of kickoff returns.
In 11 games over two seasons with the Bears, Wright has returned seven kickoffs for 194 yards as he is averaging 27.7 yards per return. Wright has also rushed for 313 yards and a touchdown, and caught 15 passes for 56 yards.
The BSU football team is currently 0-2 on the season. The Bears' open MASCAC play on Saturday at noon when they welcome Plymouth State University to Mazzaferro Field.
