Judah Jackson Named MASCAC Co-Player of the Week
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior guard Judah Jackson has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week. Jackson shares the honor along with Framingham State University freshman guard Darius Carter.
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior guard Judah Jackson has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week. Jackson shares the honor along with Framingham State University freshman guard Darius Carter.
Jackson averaged 16.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.7 steals while shooting 50% (20-40) from the floor in a 2-1 week for the Bears.
Jackson notched 16 points, four assists and three boards in BSU's season-opening 95-64 win at home over WNEC. He then posted a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards in a 75-69 loss to King's College in the semifinals of the Susquehanna University Tip-Off Tournament. Jackson followed that performance up with a 17-point, nine-rebound, and four-steal effort in Bridgewater's 109-78 consolation game win over Penn College as he was named to the all-tournament team.
Now in his fourth season at Bridgewater State, Judah has played in 84 out of a possible 85 games. Over that period, he has averaged 13.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. Jackson currently ranks 19th in BSU men’s basketball history with 1,147 career points. At the tournament, he passed Rich Brennan (1,129) and Sean Carey (1,146) on the Bears’ all-time scoring list.
Jackson was named to the All-MASCAC Second Team each of the last two seasons, and was selected as the MASCAC Rookie of the Year following his freshman year of 2007-2008.
The Bridgewater State men’s basketball team returns to the hardwood on Tuesday night when the Bears travel to Rhode Island College to take on the Anchormen at 7:30. Both teams were among the schools receiving votes in the D3hoops.com Preseason Poll.
