Men's Swimming & Diving Wins BSU Invitational
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving won the Bridgewater State Invitational on Saturday.

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving won the Bridgewater State Invitational on Saturday.
The Bears had 810 points in the 21-event meet while Plymouth State University finished with 278 points.
Leading the way for BSU were junior Desmond Ng (Petaling Jaya, Malaysia) and sophomore Jirat Saengthong (Watertown, Mass.), winning three events each.
Ng placed first in the 400 individual medley in 4:25.87, the 200 breaststroke in 2:13.03 and the 50 breaststroke in 26.85.
Saengthong was the winner in the 200 freestyle in 1:55.47, the 50 freestyle in 21.76 and the 100 individual medley in 57.13.
Ng and Saengthony were also on the 200 freestyle relay team that won in 1:30.98, joined by senior Thomas Roch (Chelmsford, Mass.) and junior Cooper Sever (Edgewater, Md.).
That group also finished first in the 200 medley relay race in 1:38.76.
Sever won a pair of events, finishing first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.88 and the 100 freestyle in 48.72.
Senior Robbie Soucy (Frye Island, Maine) was first in 1-meter diving with 175.20 points and in 3-meter diving with 184.95 points.
In the 1000 freestyle, senior Michael Losardo (Pittsfield, Mass.) was the winner for BSU in 11:20.52 while junior Brendan Goff (Plainville, Mass.) took the 100 backstroke in 1:05.44.
Freshman Caleb Perron (Belchertown, Mass.) won the 200 butterfly in 2:12.66.
Other winners were senior Cameron Stringfellow (Wrentham, Mass.) in the 500 freestyle in 5:37.53 and sophomore Dean Lawrence (Winchendon, Mass.) in the 200 individual medley in 2:07.68.
Roch was second in the 50 butterfly, the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle in addition to being part of the winning the two relay teams.
The Bears' next competition is Jan. 15 when it travels to Eastern Connecticut State University.
