BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University juniors Anthony Lucas and Khiem Nguyen have been selected to the 2025-2026 Academic All-District® One Division III Men's Tennis Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Lucas and Nguyen are two of just three student-athletes from the Little East Conference (LEC) to earn the honor. They are joined by Charles Watson of VTSU Castleton.
The 2025-2026 Academic All-District® Men’s Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for all-academic honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or a key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his current institution and be nominated by his sports information director. A student-athlete must have also played in at least 70% of his team's head-to-head contests for the 2025-2026 season.
Lucas and Nguyen are both making their first appearance on the CSC Academic All-District® One Division III Men's Tennis Team. Lucas, who hails from Weymouth, Massachusetts, is a communications major with an impressive 3.97 GPA while Nguyen, a native of Burlington, Vermont, is majoring in communication media studies and checks in with a terrific 3.61 GPA.
In two seasons with the Bears, Lucas has produced an 18-8 singles record including an 11-2 mark against Little East opponents. He is also 14-11 in doubles competition with a 12-3 record versus conference foes.
Nguyen has played two seasons at Bridgewater State after transferring from VTSU Castleton. He is 13-12 in singles competition since joining the Bears with a 9-4 performance against LEC competitors. Nguyen is also 17-13 in doubles play with a 12-4 mark versus conference opponents.
Lucas and Nguyen helped the BSU men's tennis team post a 12-5 record in 2025-2026 including a perfect 6-0 conference mark. The Bears captured the Little East Tournament title with a 4-3 championships match victory over Rhode Island College to advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second time in the last three years.
