Higgins Advances to 800 Finals at NEICAAA Championships

ROXBURY, Mass. – Bridgewater State University sophomore Joshua Higgins (Fitchburg, Mass.) advanced to the finals of the 800-meter run at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Higgins placed eighth in the preliminaries of the 800 with a career indoor-best time of 1:55.96 as he qualified for Saturday's finals (2:30 PM).

Sophomore Trevor Wysong (Taunton, Mass.) finished tenth in the 5,000-meter run with a career-best time of 15:20.73, while classmate Lamont Haynes (Boston, Mass.) finished 15th in the preliminaries of the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of  49.98 seconds.

Freshman John Lara (South Boston, Mass.) finished 18th in the preliminaries of the 800 with a season-best time of 1:57.73.
