Alex Huynh Named MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the fourth straight week and fifth time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Alex Huynh has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the fourth straight week and fifth time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Alex Huynh has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week.
Huynh garnered All-NEICAAA honors in both the long jump and high jump at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Outdoor Track & Field Championships held this past weekend at UMass Amherst. The Stoughton, Massachusetts product placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 23 feet, 1.75 inches (7.05m) and finished tied for seventh in the high jump with a mark of six feet, 3.25 inches (1.91m).
Huynh currently ranks 37th in all of Division III in the high jump (6'6.75"/2.00m) and 47th in the long jump (23'4"/7.11m).
The MASCAC Rookie of the Week honor marks the 13th of the academic year for Huynh who also garnered the accolade eight times during the indoor season.
Several members of the BSU outdoor track & field teams will compete on Thursday afternoon at the MIT Final Qualifier.
