Women's Soccer Holds Off Framingham State, 3-2

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's soccer team ended the regular-season by securing the No. 3 seed in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament.
The Bears held off Framingham State University, 3-2, on Saturday to finish in third place with a 5-1-2 record.
BSU (5-7-4 overall) will host sixth-seeded Fitchburg State University (3-12-3, 2-4-2 MASCAC) in a quarterfinal-round game Wednesday at Mazzaferro Field.
The Bears are the defending champions after winning their first conference tournament since 2013 last fall.
Westfield State (6-0-2) and Westfield State (6-1 before playing its finale on Saturday) are the top two seeds and have byes into next Friday's semifinal round.
BSU broke a 1-1 halftime tie with Framingham State (6-8-4, 3-3-2 MASCAC) by scoring twice in the second half before the Rams added a goal with just under 10 minutes to play.
Framingham State went up, 1-0, 3:35 into the game on a goal by freshman Sophia Thimm (Park City, Utah), assisted by junior Melissa Romeiro (Minas Gerais, Brazil). It was the fourth goal of the season by Thimm.
The Bears tied it at 26:04 on the eighth goal of the season by senior Olivia Robarge (Pepperell, Mass.).
It was the 30th goal of Robarge's career, moving her into a tie for sixth place on the program's all-time list with Mackenzie Hatfield (2012-14).
Robarge also moved past former teammate Sidney Dewhurst into seventh place on the all-time list for career points with 68.
The Bears took their first lead at 2-1 at 47:43 when junior Caroline McCormack (East Bridgewater, Mass.) scored her third goal.
The lead went to 3-1 at 65:30 on a goal by junior Yessica Duran (Gardner, Mass.), her second of the season.
Framingham State closed within one at 80:14 when Romeiro scored from Thimm.
BSU senior Logan Levesque (Bristol, R.I.) made four saves to record her 35th career win, three behind program record-holder Tracey Ullathorne (1992-95).
Levesque also set the BSU record for games played by a goalkeeper with 65, one ahead of Kristen Young (1997-2000).
Framingham State freshman goalkeeper Savannah Goba (Norton, Mass.) made one save in 45 minutes for the Rams while freshman Amelia Finley (Plymouth, Mass.) had three saves in 45 minutes.
