Women's Tennis Blanks Worcester State, 9-0
WORCESTER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College rolled to a 9-0 victory over Worcester State this afternoon in non-conference women’s tennis action at WPI’s AJ Knight Tennis Courts. With the win, the Bears remain undefeated at 5-0 while the Lancers slip to 1-2.

Lauren Donnelly (Centerville, MA), Jessica Francis (West Barnstable, MA), Catarina Rosa (Fall River, MA), Paulina Ucher (Webster, MA), Danielle Linscott (Uxbridge, MA) and Paula Araujo (Fall River, MA) all took home wins in their respective singles matches.
In the second singles match, WSC senior Brittany Cullen (Milford, MA) dropped the first set 0-6, but then took Francis to the extra tie-breaker with a 6-3 win in the second set. Francis however hung on to win the tie-breaker, 10-7.
In doubles action, Donnelly paired up with Francis, Rosa teamed up with Ucher, and Bridget Murphy (Mattapoisett, MA) along with Jenna Nowlin (Bridgewater, MA) triumphed by scores of 8-0, 8-3, and 8-4, respectively.
Worcester State will hit the road and take-on Becker on Thursday at 3:30 PM and MCLA on Saturday at 11 AM. In the next week Bridgewater State will travel to Wesleyan (CT) on Wednesday, host Roger Williams on Thursday and face-off against Rhode Island College on Saturday.
