Three Bears Named to CSC Academic All-District® One Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University seniors Kiara Abrantes and Naomi Cass, and sophomore Chloe Davies have been selected to the 2025-2026 Academic All-District® One Division III Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

Cass is making her third straight appearance on the Academic All-District® One Division III Track & Field/Cross Country Team while Abrantes is a two-time recipient of the honor.
The three Bears are among nine student-athletes from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) to garner the honor.
The 2025-2026 Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletics realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track & field/cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for all-academic honors, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at her current institution and be nominated by her sports information director. A student-athlete must either place in the top 50 of an NCAA cross country regional competition or rank in the top 50 regionally in an individual indoor or outdoor track & field event.
A native if Somerset, Massachusetts, Abrantes checks in with a terrific 3.59 GPA as she officially graduated last month cum laude with a degree in mathematics and secondary education.
During the 2025-2026 indoor season, Abrantes established herself as a top-tier sprinter in both the region and the nation while setting school records in all three sprinting events. In the 400-meter dash, she ranked second in the East Region and fifth in all of Division III with a time of 55.24. She added a fourth-place regional and 22nd-place national ranking in the 60-meter dash (7.66), as well as a fifth-place regional and 22nd-place national finish in the 200-meter dash (24.66).
Abrantes garnered USTFCCCA First Team All-America honors with a fifth place finish in the 400 (55.58) at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Alabama.
Cass, who resides in Wesport, Massachusetts, recorded a terrific 3.624 undergrad GPA as she graduated magna summa cum laude last month with a degree in elementary education.
Cass placed fourth and earned all-region honors at the 2025 NCAA Division III East Region Cross Country Championships as she posted a six-kilometer time of 21:32.2. Cass qualified for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
During the 2026 outdoor track & field season, Cass ranked fifth in the East Region and 35th in all of Division III in the 10,000-meter run (36:02.48), as well as tenth in the East Region in the 5,000-meter run (17:32.41). She was also seventh in the East Region and 49th in Division III in the 5,000-meter run (17:24.49) during the winter indoor campaign as well as 14th in the 3,000-meter run (10:11.62), 28th in the mile (5:13.40#).
Abrantes and Cass both competed on the Bears' indoor 4x400-meter relay which ranked 11th in the East Region with a time of 4:16.31.
A native of Foxborough, Massachusetts, Davies checks in with an impressive 3.917 career grade point average to date as she is majoring in elementary education and childhood studies.
Davies ranked 29th in the East Region in the high jump for the 2025-2026 indoor season with a leap of five feet, 0.25 inches (1.53m).
Abrantes, Cass and Davies helped the Bears place second at the MASCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. Abrantes won MASCAC individual titles in the 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash and 4x400-meter relay while Cass was the MASCAC champion in the mile, 5,000-meter run and 4x400-meter relay.
Cass also captured her third straight MASCAC individual title as she led the Bears to a second-place finish at the MASCAC Cross Country Championships.
