Savana Malo Named MASCAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Savana Malo has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

A native of Milford, Massachusetts, Malo placed third in the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 11.25 inches (5.16m) this past weekend at the USATF New England Championships held at Harvard University.

Malo, who also earned the honor on February 3rd, currently ranks 14th in the East Region in the long jump.

Qualifying members of the BSU women's indoor track & field team will compete on Sunday at the Division III New England Championships held at The Track at New Balance.
