Ava Crane Named MASCAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University sophomore outside hitter Ava Crane has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Rookie of the Week.

Crane registered eight kills, 15 digs, four aces and an assist in the Bears’ 3-0 win over Nichols College. She also recorded 22 receptions in the victory over the Bison.

Through eight matches this season, Crane has produced 48 kills, eight assists, 23 aces, 188 receptions, 98 digs and six blocks (two solo). She presently leads the MASCAC in aces and ranks fourth in receptions as well as eighth in digs.

Crane also earned MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors back on September 9th.

The BSU volleyball team is currently 2-6 on the season. The Bears travel to Curry College tonight for a six o'clock match with the Colonels.
