Kim Gowell Named MASCAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior outside hitter Kim Gowell has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.

A native of Durham, New Hampshire, Gowell amassed 40 kills (2.50 per set) and posted a .204 hitting percentage in a 1-3 week for the Bears. She also added 12 digs and four blocks (two solo).

Gowell tallied eight kills and four digs in a 3-0 season-openng win over Anna Maria College, and totaled 32 kills, eight digs and four blocks (two solo) in three matches at the UMass Boston Invitational.

In 31 matches over her first three seasons with the Bears, Gowell has produced 196 kills, 27 aces, 77 digs and 17 blocks (seven solo).

The MASCAC weekly honor marks the first of Gowell's career.

The BSU volleyball team is currently 1-3 on the season. The Bears travel to Rhode Island College on Tuesday night for a six o'clock match with the Anchorwomen.
