Lilly Misay Named MASCAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore libero Lilly Misay has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week.

Misay registered 44 digs (2.75 per set), 12 aces, 14 assists and a pair of kills in a 1-3 week for the Bears. The New Bedford, Massachusetts native amassed 38 digs, 11 aces, ten assists and a kill in three matches this past weekend at the UMass Boston Invitational. Misay also tallied six digs, an ace, four assists and a kill in a 3-0 season-opening win over Anna Maria College.

In 21 matches over her first two seasons with the Bears, Misay has produced 241 digs, 57 aces and 35 assists.

The MASCAC weekly honor marks the first of Misay's career.

The BSU volleyball team is currently 1-3 on the season. The Bears travel to Rhode Island College on Tuesday night for a six o'clock match with the Anchorwomen.
