Charlotte Sullivan Named MASCAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman middle hitter Charlotte Sullivan has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Rookie of the Week.

Sullivan notched 17 kills, five blocks (one solo) and two digs in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears. The Hyannis, Massachusetts native also posted an impressive .567 hitting percentage.

Sullivan tallied five kills, two digs and two blocks (one solo) in a 3-0 win over Curry College, and recorded a career-best 12 kills to go along with three assisted blocks in a 3-2 victory over Mitchell College.

Through ten matches this season, Sullivan has produced 42 kills, a pair of aces, 28 digs and 22 blocks (six solo). She is presently tied for fourth among the MASCAC leaders in solo blocks and ranks sixth in total blocks.

Sullivan is the second Bear to garner MASCAC Rookie of the Week accolades this season as she joins teammate Ava Crane who earned the honor twice.

The BSU volleyball team is currently 4-6 on the season. The Bears open MASCAC play on Tuesday evening when they travel to Framingham State University for a six o'clock match with the Rams.
