Jenise Madden Named MASCAC Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Jenise Madden has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week.

Madden was the Bears' top runner at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational held this past weekend on the UMD campus. The Milford, Massachusetts product covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 19:04.91 as she finished 24th out of a field of 275 runners.

As a squad, the Bridgewater State placed 23rd out of 37 teams at the meet, and third among the six MASCAC entries.

This coming weekend, the Bears will compete at the 48th Annual Codfish Bowl held at Franklin Park in Dorchester, Massachusetts.
